Illusion

This is a song that I wrote called "Illusion". It was inspired by a book that I read in my English class: The Awakening, by Kate Chopin. It's about a woman who realizes that she is so unhappy with her life that she would rather swim out to sea rather than stay on shore where her current life drones on and on.

I hope you like it! :)

Here are the lyrics:

The sky is dark.

Glittering with endless stars.

And I'm lying here so close yet so far.

The sun comes and goes.

Yet time is frozen.

And I'm drowning in the deepest sea.

Everything that I once knew is gone

And I don't know who I am anymore.

All the leaves have turned to red

And I can't get this out of my head

I am so torn.

Should I brave the sea or stay ashore?

The lights are low.

In this world so far from home.

And I've been nothing but all alone.

Everything that I once knew is gone.

And I don't know who I am anymore

All the leaves have fallen down

And the rain floods the ground

I am so torn.

Should I brave the sea or stay ashore?

The person that I thought I was is gone

And I've had enough of this illusion.

All the leaves are green again

And I hear the sea whisper my name

I won't hurt anymore.

I'm at home now so far away from the shore.

Thanks so much for watching! :)
