More About Timothy James McMahon

Writer of "songs to make you smile", Timothy McMahon is a Singer/Songwriter from New Hampshire who by his own admission has a "slightly off-kilter" mind. Not surprisingly his songs often reflect that he has an overall excess of time on his hands and thinks far too much about things of minimal social significance. (altho he might disagree with this!). His songs reflect his deep concern with burning issues including the loss of his reading glasses, people he couldn't remember at a class reunion, and the potential for musical stardom in Lichtenstein ... as well as being told he really needs to clean up his mouth (sigh). On the whole, a distinctly off-kilter musical experience ...

Growing up at the height of the folk music era, his first guitar was a $30 folk guitar from Sears and his eclectic early influences included Tom Rush, Shel Silverstein, Steve Goodman, John Prine, Gordon Lightfoot, The Chad Mitchell Trio, and The Kingston Trio. At 21 he went to Nashville for the first time with a best bud, a tape reel of demo songs, and dreams of instant songwriter glory (oh well ...). He continues to write and perform Americana and traditional Folk.

His newest song, "I Asked My Wife If I Could Have a Girlfriend"" on  Reverbnation and BIGDAMNDOG Records is, well, typical.
